Clocks- 4 (Four): (1) Riley Whiting, Winchester, Conn., half column shelf clock with a weight driven 30 hour time and strike wooden works movement in a mahogany veneered case, c1835; (2) C. & L. C. Ives, Bristol, Conn full column and eagle splat shelf clock with a weight driven, 8 day, time and strike riveted strap brass movement in a mahogany veneered Empire two decker case with tiger maple columns and trim and carved eagle splat, c1835; (3) Elisha Hotchkiss, Burlington, Conn., half column and splat shelf clock with a weight driven 30 hour time and strike wooden works movement in a mahogany veneered case, c1834. (4) Williams, Orton, Preston's & Co., Farmington, Conn., half column and splat shelf clock with a weight driven 30 hour time and strike movement in a mahogany veneered case, c1838.
CONDITION:
(1) The case has several areas of veneer loss. The hands and weights are missing. The dial has significant paint loss. The case top pillars, splat and returns are missing; (2) The case has veneer loss in several areas. The original painted dial has minor loss. The hands are original. The upper glass and decorated middle glass are original. The lower clear glass may be replaced. (3) There is extensive veneer loss on the base. The top right chimney, return and the splat are missing. The weights are missing. The original painted dial is in good condition but the numerals are weak. The upper door glass is original. the lower glass is a replacement. (4) The case has veneer damage and repair in multiple locations. The painted dial shows some wear. The hour hand is missing The upper door glass is original. The lower glass (mirror) may be a later replacement The weights are missing. ***NOTE*** The dimensions are for clock number 2.
